Welcome to the Asiatic Muzzleloading and Armaments Research Network (AMARN)

AMARN is a research-focused community dedicated to the study, documentation, and practical understanding of Asiatic muzzleloading firearms and related armaments across Eurasia and the Sinosphere.

Our goal is to:

  • Preserve historical knowledge of Asian black powder weapons

  • Document primary and secondary sources

  • Share safe, historically informed shooting practices

  • Encourage serious discussion grounded in evidence

This project is inspired by the research culture of ATARN, adapted specifically for firearms rather than archery.

Founded by Justin Chau (JiaozhiWorks) and Sebastian Hu (Seb’xArmedCafé).
